  I honeymooned on Kauai last June. It was totally awesome and amazing. I highly recommend it. Staying on the north shore (like Princeville) is the best. That part of the island is the most tropical. I know I was surrounded by tourists, but the entire time I was there it really never felt too touristy. Met some cool locals too, though some locals aren't as cool.
