a couple of weeks ago i bought a bamboo pot plant... ever since i brought it home it's been slowly dying; leaves drying out and going brown... i give it ample water, brought it inside out of direct sunlight for a few days to see if it helps. bamboo is supposed to be a tough, grow-anywhere plant...i can see some fresh sprouts in the middle of the though...

    • the plant*sine
    • Too much water?waterhouse
    • nah. and it drains properly too.sine
    • maybe it's root-bound or is in poor soil. plant it outside or put it in a bigger pot with new soil?scarabin
    • the pot got disturbed on the drive over to my place... spilled some soil. might be that. i'll see how it goes...sine
    • plants go into shock when you move them, especially if the roots are disturbed. you said you see new shoots. it might have to shed the old. put outside in bright indirect sun to recoup. don't over water. and give it some love. of you put it in the ground, bamboo will take over and it is close to impossible to contain.sea_sea

    • I'm up to my third one - have had some pot plants for 17 years - but just can't keep these aliveali
