Paypal do a neat little cart that's quite basic but offers basic product options and such. If you're confident ernough to make a site/WP blog type affair, it's the sort of thing you could plug in easily enough.
Oftentimes a full eCommerce cart/catalogue/customer database is total overkill for a site - especially where much of taht data is then duplicated on Paypal or whatever payment scheme you use.
