I find it funny that people clamor over these new modern designs with their extravagant price tags, when you could spend the same money or less at an auction or antique store purchasing a desk with more character than the rest of the office with beautiful ornamentation, plenty of storage, and probably already nearing 100 years old. but you guys rock on with your fake butcher blocks attached aluminum pole legs.

    • Personal preference. I dig the clean modern look of that stuff. Not really into ornamentation. I leave that to old folks.fyoucher1
    • I also don't think I've ever walked into an antique store or even heard of furniture auctions :)fyoucher1
    • For my home, I dig that kind of stuff though (think Restoration Hardware). But for office I dig the clean modern look.fyoucher1
    • nothing personal, the trend lately just seems to make it look like ikea but cost more than a caridiots
    • as you age, you will learn to appreciate those details as they were hand done. not stamped by a machineidiots
    • I'm def not into ornamented antique stuff, but if I could find some good art deco pieces, I'd be all over them.Continuity
    • I'm plenty aged already (family man) and still don't like ornate stuff. Just not my style. Good handmade stuff is a different story though.fyoucher1
