    just ordered all the parts for a 6-core 4+ghz (overclocked, liquid-cooled) machine.

    using:

    • Intel Core i7-970 Processor 3.20 GHz 12 MB Cache Socket LGA1366

    • Gigabyte LGA1366/ Intel X58 SATA3 ATI CrossFireX ATX Motherboard GA-X58A-UD5

    • XFX ATI Radeon HD 5770 1 GB DDR5 2DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card HD577XZNFC

    • OCZ Technology 120 GB Vertex 2 Series SATA II 3.5-Inch Solid State Drive (SSD) OCZSSD3-2VTX120G

    • LG Electronics 10X Blu-ray SATA Writer Drive with Software WH10LS30K (Black)

    • Mushkin Black Label 12GB (3x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 10-10-10-27 Ram

    • Do you plan on running multiple vid cards? Just wondering why you wouldn't go with a Sandybridge processor?ETM

    • no. i'm still on 10.6.5
      just haven't bothered, but updates get worked out pretty quickly.
