My advice would be to send something a bit more exciting than a standard CV. After all, you are a creative person.

If the purpose of what you are sending is to drive someone to your portfolio website, do something that's going to inspire them to do so or grab their curiosity to do so.

Come up with an idea as a 'campaign'. Do an illustration or concept specifically for the mailout. It could be as simple as a postcard with a QR code or something with as much effort as a comic?

If you do comic style illustrations, why not illustrate a story then leave out the ending but just have a QR code or url to prompt them to visit the site to find out the ending.

    Just an idea.

As someone who gets lots of cv's sent via email and snail-mail I have to say that a lot of them just get glanced at because i'm too busy to look at them properly. It's only the ones who have done something interesting and different from the 'norm' that get a proper look.
