The 10D is a brilliant camera.
disadvantage of the sigma lenses is that the lightmeter doesnt work very well in the P and Av program mode. It fucks up the image with about one and a half stop. Thats a bit too much. On the other hand are the Canon lenses really expen$ive.I wouldnt buy a wide angle if youre starting out with photography. You'll learn more buying a 50mm , you can buy some a reaally good second hand one for no money, say 50mm/1.4 for about 100 Euros. Or go for a zoom like 28 - 125.
Try not to overdo it with expensive equipment in the beginning. And most important... enjoy that camera.
