I love my Dell Latitude E4310 and use it for some quite heavy rendering of Video and the odd but of light 3D with no trouble.

I'd recommend for heavy CAD work, perhaps go for Dell Precision M4500. It's the more steroid version of the Latitude E4310.

What's nice is they support 16GB RAM as well. A guy in my building who does architectural rendering uses an M4500 with 16GB RAM, and he uses it over the stock iMac i7's we have here.

    • That's a Quad Core i7 with 16GB RAM in a laptop. It's big but weighs the same as the 15" MBP.orrinward
