I'll never forget the day my son (about 16 at the time; he's now 27) asked me if I knew who Miles Davis was... man, just about busted a cheek or two smiling. Thus ensued a wonderful summer afternoon of sharing Miles and Monk and Coltrane and Parker, et al. He doesn't listen to them much any more, but he always has them to fall back to. And yeah, all of my kids have listened to Zeppelin; again, not frequent flyers, but in the archives regardless.
