    I would suggest Craigslist.com for jobs and housing. For housing you have to keep in mind that NYC you will have to pay 1st, last and security deposit to move in which a shit load. You also have to make like 30 times the monthly rent and have a letter from the employer to get a lease in the city. i would suggest living in Weehawken or Union City NJ (10 MINUTE BUS COMMUTE AND 1ST STOP FROM PORT AUTHORITY). You can get a nice NYC Skyline city view apartment for under 1800 per month. Good luck.
