Apple makes thoughtful products top to bottom, 1 handset per year (so far) with integrated OS. It's 1 company with 1 handset.

Android is a platform, open to any manufacturer (so far).

It's Apple vs everybody else, I mean, who would think apple would rule smartphone market share? They never did and never will. And I'm pretty sure that's not their goal.
It's basically the same as desktop, little market share but with the highest profits.
The only market share they have above the others is ipod and ipad, because they basically introduced the products to a non existent market, and they will keep it theirs. On the phone side, they entered a really though ground and managed to keep climbing the ladder by themselves. I think it's pretty impressive to get where they are now, I always thought the iphone would be a small niche like mac vs pc.
Anyone who would think they could rule all smartphone market share is nuts to begin with.

    • not really.. I've been told that iOS will dominate the mobile market for years now.. and they will end up being nothing really in the long run.Boz
    • in the long run.Boz
