Not that I am vein enough to be concerned about my ability to acquire sushi, but I was wondering this morning about what the tsunami and other damage has done to that industry in Japan. Tokyo and the ports there were probably not as badly damaged as things up north, but boats could have been damaged out at sea or close to shore. Shipping travel has to be affected out of Japan.

Doesn't most fish meant for sushi come out of Japan? I feel like I've heard at one point that most sushi comes from one supplier, and there's some kind of organization that approves fish for resale as sushi. Anyone else know anything about this?

    • I've heard that the best sushi in Japan comes from Vancouver. Probably not true.nb
