somehow I think it's the news ticker...
I had an issue like this in IE once... it seemed IE's javascript engine re-allocated RAM for the entire array each time it moved one letter along... so maybe a different approach is needed for IE....
IE has a "marquee" code, not too nice, but it probably doesn't leak RAM in IE like the javascript method does....
