The issue is - every extra person in a flat or house takes their toll. It's not about space or cubic meters, it's more than that. If your mate starts to think he's getting a raw deal - he won't be your mate for long. Bitterness / resentment will begin to form - it's not worth worrying about. Thirds are fine; you'll be able to make use of the living room more often - and all of you will be able to live in harmony.
