No other company does keynotes like Apple with Steve Jobs, you don't see in any major newspaper when other company do their events, that only happens with Apple, and yes they always begin with the current status of the company, interesting facts they want to share and then move on to product announcement and features.
I have to agree with you with some of the promo videos they run on the keynotes with all the Apple top guys saying how things are magical and made with unicorn blood, those are a bit silly, but the rest is impeccable.
