You'll arrive just in time for the carnival in Brazil (march 4 - 9)! I'll not be here because I prefer to go to the beach during those days but the place is really fun for those who stay.
I think you meant: "Rua da consolação"
This location is good, you'll find a lot of restaurants and bars. Just take a walk at the Av. Paulista and if you want some night clubs, head north in the "Rua Augusta" (it intersects the Paulista).
