For me, the most exciting point in the cycle of prophecy, anticipation, hysteria and finally disappointment is that within a week of a fateful deadline passing without consequence, we start hearing about the next terminal moment in our history, which has been prophesized since the dawn of time but mysteriously never mentioned before until the week after the last one failed to come true.
I heard there was a race of beings called the Demi-Gargantuans who lived in Alaska 3 billion years ago who claimed the world would end in 2020.
