I did 4 days in Vancouver before Xmas, had a great time!
Recommendations are:
Gastown - If you want to see a circus head to The Cambie bar & hostel for some drinks... blatant pot dealers by the side door, good food and a wide variety of beers
Chinatown for lunch at least once - awesome chinese food
The Grouse cable car up to the top of the mountain, nice cafe and a good look over the city from the north side
Capilona Suspension bridge - it's also on the north side like The Grouse, so you could probably fit the two into one day
Whistler - get up really early, you can rent all your gear and have a great day up on the mountain... it is a seriously huge resort
Check out ticket prices for a hockey game, Canucks for NHL, or second division is the Vancouver Giants
Observation deck in the middle of town (I can't remember the name of the building)
Granville St is a really long party strip with everything you might want to do, it's a crazy place, has some good clubs, bars, tattoo jointsVictoria is a tourist town, and this is seriously not the time of year for it... When I was there for 1 day I went through Chinatown, went to the Butchart Gardens, photo-shooting outside The Empress and Parliament House, there's a pretty decent museum I'm told (I didn't have the time to go inside)
That's about all I can think of... I had a WAY better time in Van than Victoria, I'd recommend you stick with one if you have limited time to visit....
ENJOY!!
