  comparing the two on a strictly formal basis the old logo is a little more lively and displays much more character typographically. Unfortunately it feels rather dated - I recall seeing a collection of typography from the 1960's and 70's and seeing many similar treatments.

  However, without the context of motion, the new logo is both obtuse and unattractive. I almost think that the PWC could stand on it's own without the abstract shape above it.
