I resurrect this thread for some exciting external hard drive discussion...
I'd like a large and fast external drive for video backup and to work off of. I've been told a 7200 rpm drive is way better than 5400 for video, does it actually make a difference? And I was looking through all the interface options from USB2.0, firewire400/800 and eSATA but now I see that USB3.0 is out and apparently kicks all their asses in speed, plus is already 2.0 compatible . So what would you get ?
- 7200 definitely. firewire800 vs usb3 am not sure...inteliboy
