i think netflix is a really great concept and it will eventually be a apples to apples contender with walk-in video stores like blockbuster. it's where we're headed, all digital, delivered immediately. it's what's beginning to be expected by consumers.
in my mind the only thing holding it back, in canada anyway, is selection and timing. i personally want to see basically 'everything' i'm going to have available to me at the video store; that's basically it. this is especially true for tues. new releases.
until that day happens it can't really compete with walk-ins. however, when that day happens, and it clearly will at some point, blockbuster and rogers and all the others are going to be in alot of trouble. we've already seen this situation in vancouver specifically with the disappearance of music stores like sam, a&b sound, etc. RIP.
