    just like the iPhone once was, the iPads are price designed to serve only the gadget freaks who have to have the newest thing on the block. At their current prices, they're still considered luxury goods, which is the intent of its high introductory price.

    For the common person, group and community who would wish to use this as a gadget for around the household, schools everywhere to simply use as a text book reader, with web access and an app player, starting prices of $499 is just too much. There are many kids out there who honestly cannot afford an iPod Touch still. But now we're looking at a device that is meant to be the new middle man to share and display information between the computer and the mobile phone. Where $299 would be a better starting price to add a larger mobile touchscreen pad.
