illustrator rounded corners

  -Copy the original shape that has right angled corners,
  -then goto Effects/ Stylize/ Round corners/ click preview, adjust to how you want it.
  -then goto Object/ Expand appearance.
  -then paste that original shape behind, use the white arrow and grab the 2 top corners of the rectangle and just bring them down above the center, then use the black arrow tool and select both shape and merge them into 1 ..

  done et done

  shouldn't take you more than 25 seconds for the whole process.

  • or just expand appearance and cut off the bottom as detritus said, bit quickerset
