we stayed in negril a couple years ago and we were told not to leave the resort. there are group bike rides and trips that you can take, but only the brave venture out alone. as part of our vacation the group of us rented a bus to take us to a local restaurant. the bus pulls up, we all get on, it pulls out onto the street and literally a half mile later it drops us off. we were all thinking "WTF" it was right HERE? so we drink and party at the outdoor restaurant and it's about 1 in the morning, we decide we're going to walk the beach back to our hotel, because we're looking down the beach and it's right fucking there. we start to walk and the waitresses run out and tell us not to, because most people who make that walk get robbed or worse. so we went back inside and called the bus again. fuckin place. beautiful as all hell but you can't venture out on your own. the bus ride from the airport to the resort i saw maybe 10 armed guards keeping tabs alongside the roadway to the resort.

- I hate "resorts".. you really don't see anything and organized trips are always a rip off.partdeux
