    short answer: its fine for everyday printing.

    long answer : most HP printers interprets CMYK data according to the Standard Web Offset Press (SWOP). swop standard defines how a particular set of CMYK ink colors should behave by RGB interpolation but they also accept CMYK color value using the Adobe PostScript printer driver. my printer (LaserJet 2550L) performs a SWOP color map and internal half tones to emulate a SWOP CMYK press. although like mentioned many printers use the PostScript output along with the color values. so accuracy depends on inkwell/paper/ and source file. but most of the time my color accuracy depends on my pantone calibration which i reset every few months or so.
