    The long and short of it is that it's Build ffs, I'm pretty certain that he has long established himself and does not rely on his web presence to gain new business... He could have a video of himself shitting on one of his cats and I doubt it's going to affect clients coming to him to provide a visual solution that has his individual approach attached to it...

    It's definitely a valid point of view, but also potentially quite limiting, as designers, if we don't challenge conventions and especially in cases like a personal portfolio site, push people out of their comfort zones then we're missing a big opportunity... People are complacent, society is lazy, if we don't continue to push things that are possibly outside of standard convention then all we are doing is reinforcing the notion that it's ok to not have to think about what we're doing... The 2 click society is not one that I believe is worth investing in...
