I feel you. I found my cat on the side of the road. His mother had been hit by a car. He was small enough to fit in the palm of my hand.
I never wanted a cat...but I took him in out of pity and he has been my faithful buddy for almost 12 years now. He follows me everywhere...always has to be in the same room as I am when I'm home. He's like a dog.
He's getting old now and the realization is dawning that someday soon I may have to do the same. I really don't know how I'll be able to do it.
Seems silly to me sometimes to get so attached, but they really find a way to get to you right?
so sorry for the loss.
Hope you feel better and adopt another buddy soon.
