I have an account. Rarely use the email or photo gallery. Love the contact and calendar sync with my work comp, home comp, iPhone, and iPad.
The storage is nice when you need it. I actually prefer DropBox (I never need more than my free 4.5gb)
It is easy to cancel (I had a trial that I cancelled before I had to pay) You do lose everything on the site if you cancel. But I believe your contacts and calendar events stay on the devices you had synced. I do know that your stored files will remain on any computer you had synced to your iDisk.
You can host a site and you can even use your own domain.
Being able to located / lock / wipe and iPhone or iPad is nice too. Not that I've had to yet.
