The Ally has more battery life because it has a larger battery (1500mAh vs 1300mAh). The Ally has the 1GHz processor vs. the 528MHz processor of the Eris. The Ally is about .1 in thicker than the Eris, has a slide out keyboard (no slide on the Eris) and has a larger screen. The Eris comes standard (from Verizon) with a 8GB SD card, the Ally only comes with a 4GB. The Eris has a 5M pixel camera, the Ally only 3.2 (though the Ally has LED flash, the Eris no flash). Both are now running Android 2.1, though some folks getting the Eris have to update from v. 1.5. The Eris is basically the HTC Hero with a new skin on, the electronics are almost the same (read dated). I have also been trying to choose and I am leaning towards the Ally.
