I use photoshop and illustrator very rarely these days. Most of my work is done in InDesign and Fireworks. I will say that Illustrator can be annoyingly slow at times. There's not much that was added after Illustrator 10 that I find useful. I think it's all that crap that's slowing it down. I mostly use it for logos and drawing with the pen tool. I've been using it since version '88 and think's it's still the best tool for drawing.
