Ecstasy...it's hard to make people understand if they haven't tried it.
Shrooms and LSD are the classic psychedelic experience - crazy hallucinations, purpose of life type revelations, feel like you've become one with nature etc.
Ecstasy can be mildly hallucinogenic but the overall physical experience is closer to other amphetamines, more of a super intense buzz than a mindtrip. You will get a speedy feeling and everything will feel good, hence the cracked out looking ravers giving each other massages. You could be sitting in a puddle of piss and puke in the middle of an abandoned warehouse at 7 in the morning, and you will feel totally awesome.
But the more unique aspect of MDMA, is the incredible feeling of empathy it gives you. You will suddenly realize (for about 6-8 hours) how truly incredible your life/ friends/ family/ girlfriend is, even your worst enemy will suddenly seem like a totally reasonable person. Chances are in fact, it'll be the greatest psychoemotional experience you ever had.
Having said that, drugs are bad, kids. Don't do them.
