@ Vespa, I think you've totally misunderstood mclarren's aims. he didn't give a shit about bands, music, it was all part of 'punk' as he saw it...
Chicken WAS a child pornography magazine, a publicity stunt - an attempt to expose pop music as porn for children. He was using his status, Bow Wow Wow, Anabella Lwin's age to implement the media (particularly EMI and the BBC) in the scandal (much like the Jonas brothers/Disney South Park episode but 30 years earlier).
While I don't want to defend the fella; you can't take any of his work at face value (i've never read that virginity thing before)... Bow Wow Wow were a great group and Lwin was pimped out to pre-pubescent teens by the media without a moment's thought wether it was right or not (ask any 40 yr old about her and watch them swoon).
