    Cataclysm

And the day came the comet fell from the sky
Taking our future away with its mass destruction
Our lands were lost and our history forgotten for the rest of time
All trace of our culture and our peoples were lost
So in the centuries that were to follow we would be mere myth
A legendary civilisation dismissed by the sceptical minds

    But I remember
I recall those dread days waiting for the end
I have returned as one of the many
    A survivor from that time
Permitted to return to earth because of the bloodline
A heritage that has survived since then

We witnessed our destruction loom closer
Growing in size, the fear driving us out of our minds
Our elders realising our doom too late
I was one of the lucky ones
I made it out before the world turned black
And the world shook with such an awesome force

Our home lies buried, all its charms long since forgotten
Its power cold, its magic lost to a world in dire need
But our destruction was a divine decision, not brought on by chance
It had to be for forces were at large which were too evil
They had to be culled to save the world
Our ending had been decreed by the universal mind ....
