How do you name your project?

  This system has served me well:
  I assign every project a unique key # so it can be easily tracked in archives and keep a reference list handy that includes the code number, date started and a brief description. Then also give the files within the project the code number. This number appears on the invoice so the client can refer to this number if they need anything from the project from archives.

  So projects and files are named:
  key no_3 letter client code_Abbreviated description of project to include as much info as possible
  ie.
  0001CAN 09SustainabilityReport
  - 00001CAN 09SR Cover.indd
  - 00001CAN 09SR InternalPages.indd
  0002QBN LOLCat_gif_100x100px
