    Here's something Apple could attempt:
    Become a mobile provider.

Think of it this way. You have multiple mobile devices, and so too many mobile plans, which you probably don't max out or even get close too on a monthly basis.

One plan for all mobile devices.... say $99/month (10Gb peak and unlimited off peak) and you can use it across your iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, MacBook Pro etc etc. It could conceivably work across any mobile device equipped with a defined set of numbers. They could even add devices further down the track for just an extra $5/month.

I don't think this would be too hard to accomplish technically, and it opens up an ever expanding revenue stream. Perhaps Apple could even create and license a miniSIM that would work this way.

....although, with the use of the miniSIM in the iPad perhaps I'm just a couple of days behind the stealth launch of this.

Wait for future versions of all these devices to include miniSIMs, or dongles/cards including miniSIMS that will retrofit current iPhones etc.

    • btw. iPad looks appealing to me. I don't have an iPhone, Ipod Touch or Laptop so this becomes my portable device of choice.Amicus
