yeah the hype is wrong - but the strokes aren't doing anything the sonics weren't doing 30 years ago - and they are doing it worse. I'm so sick of seeing people in london dressed like the strokes - they are more of a fashion zine than a band.
and the white stripes (and this is my opinion - ergo I am entitled to it) are just dull dull dull - a horribly mediocre band leading a horribly mediocre garage revival
