Ok, I'm going to ask a few more questions. Maybe we'll be able to flush out the identity of this unknown flick. But so far we have a teenage navigator, where amphetamines were involved and someone dies. They were on a wild planet. The movie took place around 1989:

    1. Was this at all a comedy?
    2. Was it a b-movie?
    3. Can you recall any significant details of technology, spacecraft, weapons? (lasers, computers with knobs and blinking lights, warp speed, sabers, inter-dimensional portals, RVs with wings, mind control, photon torpedos, walking trash cans, holographic displays, virtual simulators, ejection pods, anti-gravity boots, silver orbs, touch-screen handhelds that played mp3s, internet, etc...)
    4. Any aliens involved, if so what did they look like? (gigantic bugs, furry animals with spears, blue reptiles with fins, pink bunnies, overly large-sized women, humans with pointy ears, etc...)
    5. Any robots? if so.. what were their purpose, what could they do? (did they have voice recognition, talk a language other than binary, have feet and hands or wheels, etc..)
    6. What did the wild planet look like? (did it have intelligent life, was in the midst of blowing up, was it just rocks and dust, did it have any vegetation, a gas station, oxygen)
