We'll have plenty of typefaces (and their attendant fonts) down the road. What typeface designed in your lifetime would you like to see featured? And what might we improve about the display of them? Always appreciate constructive input from fellow designers. (And this is the first time on QBN that I've seen a string remain fairly civilized and polite. What's up with that?)

As far as the "this whole "typography is the end all, be all of design" needs to stop comment, would you say to a painter "this whole color obsession has to stop." Or to a musician that the obsession with notes must end?

I've had students who've said "I'm not really into type." I've told them to go become illustrators or photographers, not graphic designers. We exist not to make pretty pictures but to further words and ideas. If someone can't make those words properly represent the concept they need to learn more about type. Type, like a note in a painting or sonata is a conscious choice reflecting ones aesthetics and abilities as a designer.

The endless selection of faces we have available are a palette that musicians stuck with 8 notes would kill for. Or a web designer with 6 fonts, for that matter.
