  Here's my theory on the next season.

  Dexter sends the kids to live with Rita's parents while he is mourning the death of his wife. MEanwhile, a new series of killings hits the town, except, this time the killer clearly knows who Dexter is and leaves statements alluding to such along the way. At the same time, his sister gets closer and closer to the truth.

  At the pivotal moment of the season, Dexter finally confronts the killer and turns out it's....Harry, who is not actually dead as has been assumed all along. Dexter kills Harry, thereby conquering his demons and goes on his merry way with Rita's kids and some new chick he shacked up with. The sister finds out who he is but she's cool with it. Quinn dies as collateral along the way.
