Lol. The purpose is to make each project look as nice as possible. Agreed, the video is a dishonest representation of a working website – a serious misrepresentation, but who cares? The skill required to make the video is what I'm attempting to showcase.
As for the banners. We all know banner work is nasty - but I think it's pretty obvious that I'm not taking credit for the photo imagery. I'm not trying to get people to believe that I had a photo-shoot with Keanu. That's generally the way it works with banner stuff. You're given photo assets and you use them. I'm showcasing the fact that I can build the things. Nothing more.
