  i'd only spend massive amounts of money on art if it was beardsley's, only because i have a personal interest in the man himself.

  spending loads of money on a piece just because the artist is famous or the piece is well-known is self-important fappery designed only to impress others. most of the shit people publicly praise today is utter fucking rubbish in terms of actual beauty in the first place.

  there's so much amazing, beautiful work being created right now that you can get the same beauty for a relatively paltry sum

  for instance:

  picasso = shit
  pollock = shit

  audrey kawasaki = beauty
