Not only do I love art, but I make it and buy it. My best investment to date was a Banksy print I bought for $80 sold it for 9k... that was two years ago. I have a few original Fairys that I bought and have more than tripled my money. However most of my art will never be sold. It's kinda fun to think about the money I've made. In all reality I plan on handing my work down to my kids. I'm sure they'll sell the work to buy the latest and greatest car.
I would like to encourage the designer community to take some time out of your day and make something with your hands. Break away from the Comp if only for a few hours a week. It'll help your spirt. Or, save a little cash here and there and support the arts.
It'll make your walls look better and once in a wile it'll payoff financially.
