    Most inkjet printers have a software option for Black Ink Only that needs to be set every time you print. But even if you do, a lot of those printers use a tiny bit of color as cleaning or lubricating before hand.

    I've found HP to be better than Epson for this. On some HPs, you can actually replace the color tanks with a second black tank. I had one that I used for two years without ever replacing the color.

    But then it broke down. Cheap crap. Now I have a Black only laser for such printing. Way more efficient for documents.
