called a deckle edge. Just hold a straight edge "That's got some weight to it" and tear from the top down. It takes some graft to get it done well so don't expect a perfect deckle every time. It helps me to crease the edges of the top and bottom of the line you're going to tear. Helps register the line you're tearing.
