My personal opinion is that they're just using occult / mad max type imagery to evoke a connection with something larger then themselves and to look "cool". I don't think they're that deep to really come up with so many double meanings.
Anyone do any reading of conspiracy sites / books? I have a few friends big into that. Read a few myself and it's amazing how detailed some of these authors get with their obession with symbols and secret plots. You have to wonder how many of them are manic...
