My boyfriend and I are both graphic designers but each of us has something to bring to the table. He is more of a product designer and I am more of a print designer as well as photographer. When we collaborate on things they come out great. We inspire each other. The plan is to start a studio together somewhere down the line. It's awesome to have a significant other that you can geek out with.. sit down and look at design books together, send links of stuff we like back and forth all day when we are at work.
I think it depends on your relationship, if you have the ability to feed off each other and are both able to contribute equally then it can be amazing. But I think if one person was to feel inferior to the other it could become a problem and of course you would have to deal with that problem even when you are out of work
Could be amazing, could be horrible.
