    If you can't talk the client into changing or improving their current logo, try designing the layouts with out it. Use a different logo or something else as a place holder. Once you got something pretty concrete, put the logo back in. It might not be as bad as you think, kind of an out of sight out of mind thing.

    That or play around with the logo and things that can accent it or maybe bring out any of the few redeeming qualities it might have. That or find things that help mask its flaws. Getting comfortable with the logo is probably the better route as you will hopefully come up with something that feels more cohesive.

    Alas, some logos are just chi killers and option number a is the only route you can take.
