  Virgin has 2 modes: on the areas covered by fiber optic, it properly cut you out from the bt line and connect your hose with the fiber. Which is good and fast (had similar deal while in Italy: REAL 10Mbits)
  Otherwise if your area is not covered by the cable they tell you anyway that you are going to get 20 Mbits, but via the normal landline (not sure tho if they overtake bt or not) but, those promised 20Mbits are plainly bullshit.
