There are tons of options, different applications suit different people, there is no "BEST" or "WORST" they are just tools, and the are not responsible of your overall production work.
I used to think, oh yeah.. if you don't produce with logic you must suck, but after going though a few of my favorite albums and investigating what tools were used to complete them. You realize that in reality, the tools don't matter one bit, what matters is the music.
