not so sure about drumming, but I've been getting back into jazz lately, always liked miles davis, Coltrane, Charles Mingus, Dexter Gordon.
Mingus' "Black Saint and the Sinner Lady" is really, really great. Just bought a few more miles davis albums, Sketches of Spain, Miles Smiles and In a Silent Way-of which track 2 makes me think of current stuff like Sigur Ros, Mogwai, but very minimal.
